HOW IT WORKS

Questions that open a window.

Every Tuko question is built on the Johari window, a model created in 1955 by psychologists Joseph Luft and Harrington Ingham to map what people know about each other.

Four panes in every relationship.

Some things you both know. Some only one of you knows. Some neither of you has found yet. Good conversations move between all four.

OPEN
What we both knowFavourite foods, family jokes, the weekend routine. Where trust builds up.
BLIND SPOT
What I see in themThe kindness they don’t realise is unusual. You get to be a kind mirror.
HIDDEN
What they haven’t told me yetThe worry, the friendship gone wrong, the hope they’re shy about.
UNKNOWN
What we’ll find out togetherTalents not yet tried. Who they’re becoming. Where surprises live.

Four depths to match the moment.

FunBuilds comfort and shared laughter in the open pane. Great for the school run.Try: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
LightInvites small stories that sit just below the surface. Great for dinner.Try: What’s something you’re really good at?
DeepFeelings, identity and meaning. Best when the mood is right, often at bedtime.Try: What makes you feel like someone really sees and hears you?
WackyPlays in the unknown through imagination. No wrong answers, lots of laughs.Try: If your shadow was secretly writing a book about you, what would the title be?

Three things every child is working out.

Across all four depths, Tuko rotates through three intents. You won’t notice which is which. Over a session, your child explores who they are, where they belong and what they care about.

IdentityWho am I? Character, strengths and what they care about.
BelongingWhere do I fit? Family, friends and community.
PurposeWhy am I here? Values, meaning and making a difference.

Two ways to play.

GUIDEDFrom silly to serious, at the right pace.Tuko moves from Fun to Light to Deep over a session, adjusting as it goes. It remembers the last 70 questions you’ve seen so it doesn’t repeat them.
FOCUSStay in one depth for as long as you like.Choose Fun for a video call with Grandma or Deep for a quiet bedtime. The questions still rotate through identity, belonging and purpose.
